Tra-la! Tra-lay! It's the Meowy Month of May! And the Feline Friends Network is making a spring tour of Stratford-area pet food stores and the Festival Marketplace mall. Weekly displays will feature FFN's many successful programs – from "Trap – Neuter – Return" and "Spay the Mama" to the "Cinderella" fund and spay/neuter vouchers for low-income families. Feline-friendly volunteers will be on hand to distribute free literature, provide expert cat and kitten advice, and explain the benefits of adding your voice and becoming a member of FFN. Keep your eyes peeled for the FFN mascot – a six-foot-tall grey kitty who is eager to greet both the young and the young-at-heart – and join us for some memorably meowy moments!
Saturday, 5 May, 11 am to 3 pm, Feed-All Pet Centre, 145 Erie Street
Saturday, 12 May, 11 am to 3 pm, Global Pet Foods, 684 Ontario Street

City Council Proposal for Animal Welfare and Control Committee
Monday, 23 April 2012
7:00 pm
City Council Chambers
City Hall, Stratford
FFN member Larry Baswick will be making a presentation to Stratford City Council asking them to create a new committee to provide a voice for domestic animals and wildlife within the city's boundaries. FFN president Cheryl Simpson and vice-president Carole Huband will assist. The suggested Animal Welfare and Control Committee would advise city council, develop position papers, conduct and collate research material, and focus on current animal-related issues. Cities such as London have already established similar committees.
FFN is inviting all its members and other interested people to come out to the council meeting to support the presentation. Your attendance would emphasize the importance of this issue, give weight to the presentation, and increase the chances of the committee being formed. Help us make Stratford a leader in the field of animal welfare and control. Please come out and support us!

Silent Auction & Providing for Your Pet

While the weather was not the best, and attendance was down, the "Fabulous Finds" silent auction netted FFN $2,200 -- that is enough for approximately 20 spay/neuter surgeries.
